About Cafe Cubano:

Executive Chef and co-owner Jorge Castaneda, a native of Havana, uses authentic ingredients to create traditional Cuban dishes with a modern flair. From the black beans, slowly cooked and always served with the traditional bay leaf floating atop, to the ropa vieja, a Cuban classic of slowly cooked and shredded beef in a red sauce, Café Cubano continually serves up a reincarnation of hope in food form. The Cuban sandwich is cooked with love and tradition interwoven between the pressed slices of bread and the smokiness of the sandwich offers a reminder of the land it originates from. Chef Castaneda, formerly of Fontainebleau Resort and Towers, creates an exciting, constantly evolving yet affordable menu developed around the seasonality and availability of different vegetables, grains, seafood, and livestock.

Upon entering the restaurant, guests are greeting with flowing palm trees and large ceiling fans evoking a true feeling of the Islands. The dining room is filled by warm colored furnishings. The dark wood tables and well appointed lighting reflect a soft glow off the walls, painted in an evocation of classic modern earth tones accented with classic Cuban art. Recycled cigar boxes adorn each table and the open seating plan provides a comfortable eating experience perfect for any size group, from a table of two to a party of twenty. Live vibrant Cuban rhythms on the weekends adds to the festive environment and patrons should bring their dance shoes for monthly Salsa dancing and lessons. During warmer months, Café Cubano will open a sand filled dining area in the back of the restaurant, giving guests the opportunity to dine, sip on homemade Sangria while enjoying beautiful tropical plants and banana trees with live traditional Cuban music.
