Annual Portland SalSaFest is Back in full force!

Hosted by Sabor Latino Dance Co. & DJ Armando, the 2008 Portland SalSaFest will take place the weekend of September 19-21, 2008 in our great city of roses. This year we're bringing back by popular demand, World Salsa Championship Competitors and Performers, John Narvaez & Liz Rojas of Salsamania from the Oakland/Bay Area. In addition, we will feature the BEST DANCERS from Vancouver, BC, Washington and of course Oregon.

2008 Portland SalsaFest Schedule

Opening night of dance performances by the BEST DANCERS in the Northwest and special performances by John & Liz of Salsamania. Plus a frenzy of dancing with the BEST Salsa courtesy of DJ Armando and Guest DJ’s from around the Northwest.

Final night of dance performances by John & Liz, World Salsa Championship Competitors, of Salsamania, plus performances by the BEST DANCERS in the Northwest. Dancing all night long to the BEST Salsa courtesy of DJ Armando and invited DJ’s from around the Northwest.

Cost: Friday Night $10 / Saturday Night $15 or SAVE on both nights - Only $20 by purchasing tickets from George Caceres or DJ Armando @ Blue Dragonfly on Thursday or Aztec Willies on Saturday.

Saturday Schedule
12:15pm - Auditions for Advance Workshop for Non-Instructors/Performers
This audition-like format will be utilized to help determine non-instructors/performers who are interested in taking the Advance Intensive Salsa Workshop. You will go through a series of footwork and turn patterns to help us confirm your ability for the Advanced workshop.
 
1pm-4:00pm Advance Intensive Salsa Workshop "On1 & On2"
This workshop is geared for instructors, performers in a professional dance group and/or advanced dancers who have demonstrated a solid foundation of Salsa rhythm, timing and partnering technique in the Audition @ 12:15pm.
 
This intensive workshop will focus on advanced partnering technique, styling, footwork, spinning and turn patterns Salsamania-Style. Guaranteed to skyrocket your dancing.
 
This workshop will be taught both "On1" and "On2".
$45 for 3 hours of intensive training with World Ranked Salsa Champions, John & Liz of Salsamania.
 
Sunday Schedule
1pm-2:30pm - Beginning Salsa Workshop
This workshop is geared for Salsa dancers with a minimum of 2 months of Salsa experience whether in studio or social environment. In this workshop you will further expand your current skills by working on the solid foundations and technique including partnering technique, footwork, spinning and turn patterns.

 
This workshop will be taught "On1"
$25 for 1 1/2 hours of intensive training with World Ranked Salsa Champions, John & Liz of Salsamania. 
 
3pm-5pm Intermediate Salsa Workshop "On1 & On2"
This workshop is geared for Intermediate Salsa dancers with a minimum of 6-8 months of Salsa experience whether in studio or social environment or instructor approval. In this workshop the emphasis will be to learn how to take your current level of dancing to a higher level by working on key intermediate techniques including partnering technique, styling, footwork, spinning and turn patterns, Salsamania-Style! 
 
This workshop will be taught both "On1 & On2"
$35 for 2 hours of intensive training with World Ranked Salsa Champions, John & Liz of Salsamania.
